GSCCC Helping Hands Food Drive

May 4, 2013
9 a.m. - noon
Local Area Walmart Stores

Help Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast support our local food banks by participating in the Helping Hands Food Drive, sponsored by TowneBank. Girls will collect non-perishable foods and deliver them to food bank trucks stationed at each Walmart in our Council. Get ready to use your imagination and resources to collect food to contribute to the food banks. There will be contests for most creative promotion, most creative collection and highest per girl average. To participate in the most creative promotion and most creative collection, e-mail your photos to kaitlins@gsccc.org. Awards will be given for the highest girl and highest troop/group contribution. Totals will be reported on your honor through an online report.

While you are coming up with amazing, creative ways to collect food, complete the Helping Hands Patch Program. The requirements are on our website, www.gsccc.org. The 2013 Food Drive patches will be available for purchase in the council shops after May 1, 2013.

There are several ways that either troops or individual girls may participate:

Adult Opportunities:
• Site coordinators - One needed at each Walmart
• Day of event volunteers are needed to collect food at the Walmart collection trucks

Girl Opportunities:
• Collecting non-perishable food items
• Volunteering at the Walmart collection trucks alongside the food bank volunteers
