Communications Update

Thank you, Candice!

A Message of Appreciation from the Communications Department

The Communications department would like to say a big thank you to all of our community relations volunteers— we really couldn't do it without you. From sending us photos to inviting us to events, you help us stay connected to the16,000 girls that our Council serves. We have a couple of kudos to share this month—  a big thank you to Candice George for helping us schedule a radio interview at 88.9 WRVS in Elizabeth City to help us promote the Helping Hands Food Drive and give Girl Scouts the opportunity to speak out  for  themselves. Another big thank you to Mei Stukes for inviting us to the Girls Can Do Anything Career Day in Hampton. We met some great new friends of Girl Scouts and of course took advantage of the wonderful photo  opportunities there. We invite you to connect with us by sending in photographs and letting us know what great things your girls are doing. We are also always on hand to answer any questions that you may have. We don’t say it enough, but thank you, we appreciate all that you do for Girl Scouts.

Kudos to Mei!

Helping Hands Food Drive

Join GSCCC in this Council-wide community service effort. Bring your non-perishable food donations to Walmart collection sites on Saturday, May 4 from 9 a.m.- noon.
We have marketing collateral available on our website for you to use and share with other volunteers in your service unit. There are door hangers, posters, fliers, a template letter to businesses and more.
You can also find contest details for girls. Gift certificates to the Council shop are up for grabs!

Resources for you!

We have designed Facebook ads that we encourage you to use on your troop and service unit Facebook pages. You can share them right from our pagewhere they are already posted. We update our Facebook page with new content daily, and we welcome you to share it on your pages as well. Liking us is easy! You can text “Like Girl Scout Council of the Colonial Coast” to 32665 like us on Facebook.
Take action! We also want to know where we can find your service units and troops online. If you have a website or social media page, please send us the link. It’s a great way for us to keep up with all of the great things that girls in our Council are doing!

Host a Camp Rally!

Summer camp is right around the corner, and GSCCC has developed a new tool to help spread excitement about summer camp opportunities for Girl Scouts.
The camp rally kit is filled with activities to introduce girls and their parents to what goes on at Girl Scout camp. It also has ways to get girls excited about returning to camp. From tying knots and singing camp songs to making s’mores and S.W.A.P.S., this kit is filled with tons of things to do. A camp rally is a great way to come together as a service unit, or even as a community, to enjoy the great outdoors with one another.
Share your camp rally dates with us! Send an email to kaitlins@gsccc.org with all of the details.
