Girl Scouts are invited to join the Virginia Beach Chapter of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) for a panel discussion on human trafficking on Wednesday, September 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library in Virginia Beach. As part of the program, Girl Scout Ambassador Michaela will share her Girl Scout Gold Award project on the subject. Other members of the panel discussion include representatives from the Virginia Beach Justice Initiative and the Samaritan House.
Human trafficking endangers lives and is a crime that knows no borders. It is estimated that more than 20 million men, women and children around the world are victims of human trafficking. Join the local members of AAUW to find out more about the issue and about those taking action.
