Put a Healthy Spin on Girl Scout Journeys with Healthy Habits Journey Booklets.

Staying Healthy and Fit
Keeping Girls Healthy and Fit with 'Healthy Habits' Journey Booklets

Whether they're hiking, trying a new sport, or preparing tasty, nutritious snacks, Girl Scouts enjoy many fun ways to lead healthy lives. Health and fitness have been part of Girl Scouting since girls ran foot races in 1912! Through the National Program Portfolio—Leadership Journeys and The Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting for girls at all levels—girls develop leadership and build skills they can use now and in the future. Healthy living activities are woven throughout the Girl Scout program in varied ways to provide girls with choice and flexibility.

In partnership with the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation, Girl Scouts has developed three "healthy habits" booklets for volunteers to use in conjunction with their Journey Adult Guides. The booklets will help guide girls on their Journey as they learn to lead active, healthy lifestyles. Through the use of these free resources for Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors, Girl Scout volunteers and families can guide girls in fun, easy ways to achieve "energy balance" through awareness of:
Energy In: the calories you get from eating and drinking.
Energy Out: the calories you burn from physical activities.

Healthy Habits booklets are to be used in conjunction with Adult Guides in the It's Your Planet—Love It! series. To purchase copies of Journey Adult Guides and Journey books for girls from all three Journey series, visit our concil shop at shop.gsccc.org

It's not too late to join Cookie Club!

Girls can now "ask" customers online!

The faster, easier way to reach high goals
How does it work?

In Cookie Club, girls email customers customizable eCards asking for online orders. Customers place orders online, and the orders are automatically recorded in the girl’s Cookie Club account.

Why participate?

  • Setting goals, decision making, money management, people skills, business ethics — these are key learning goals of the cookie program. Cookie Club will help you learn these new skills.
  • Increase your sales!
  • Booth sale = 3.1 packages per order
  • Door to door = 3.3 packages per order
  • Workplace or school = 3.6 packages per order
  • Online: 6 packages per order
  • Cookie club helps to track your sale and your goals.
How do I get started?

Girls cannot join the Cookie Club until the leader sets up the troop account and the girls return their signed permission forms. When she has received a girl's signed permission form, the leader will give the girl an ID and password so she can use the online tools.

What About Safety?

The Cookie Club is a password-protected area only for Girl Scouts and the adults supervising them. The Web site is closed to all but authorized girls, troop leaders and councils.

2013 Camping Fees and Reporting for All GSCCC Facilities

With the on-line registration process beginning soon we have revised the facility camping fees to make registration easier and possibly save you money. Before the revision, we had a single night fee for one night (24 hours) and a weekend fee for two nights (48 hours). Now we have only one fee per day. For example; the APFG Lodge was $60 for a single night or $115 for a weekend. With the new fee you will pay $55 per night for as many nights as you like. All of the revised Camp Facility fees can be found at GSCCC.org (About Us/Facilities/Camp (specific)/Resources-Facility Fees.

In order to compile accurate information as to our camp/facility utilization rates and safety issues, we will now require that all groups using our camps and facilities complete and submit the Camping Report Site Form and Check List for Breaking Camp to the Camp Ranger before leaving the camp (these forms will be included in the confirmation packet you will receive). If you do not bring the forms, they will be provided by the Camp Ranger to be completed onsite.
