GSCCC has joined Pinterest, a website where we can organize and share things that we find in photographs on the web. It’s a virtual pin board!

We’ve already pinned all sorts of things, like ideas for swaps and crafts, Forever Green initiatives, recipes inspired by Girl Scout cookies and more!

GSCCC Recognizes Famous Former Girls Scouts

Girl Scout Council of Colonial honored twelve local Girl Scout alumnae at a November luncheon. This annual Famous Former event is an opportunity for the Council to recognize women who exemplify the values of Girl Scouts and who are making a difference in their communities. From the arts to the sciences, there are thousands of women leaders who attribute their leadership successes to their participation in Girl Scouting. These outstanding women inspire girls and send a strong message that girls can be leaders.

The Girl Scout Research Institute has found that women who were Girl Scouts display significantly more positive life outcomes than women who were never Girl Scouts. In fact, 64% of today’s women leaders in the United States, including in civic, corporate and political settings, were once Girl Scouts. In a world where only 21% of girls believe they have most of the key qualities required to be a good leader, it is more important than ever to reach out to girls and provide them with strong female role models. The Famous Former Girl Scout Luncheon is an opportunity for key women leaders in the community to be reconnected with the the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and become mentors to tomorrow's leaders!
